READERS of Sinar Harian now have another way to read their favourite newspaper.
The newspaper announced its collaboration with mobile service provider redONE Network Sdn Bhd, where the newspaper is now available in the e-paper format.
Customers who sign up for the redONE phone bundle programme with at least 3GB of data will receive a free annual subscription to the digital version of the Malay daily.
Sinar Harian chief operating officer Syamil Fahim Mohd Fahim said the collaboration between the two companies was unique.
“The collaboration with redONE will enable Sinar Harian to reach a larger audience, especially in this digital age,” he said at the launch.
Syamil added that Sinar Harian was one among dozens of publications, which included magazines under the Karangkraf Media Group.
“Perhaps we will work together with redONE to launch e-magazines in the future,” he said, adding that Sinar Harian was targeting to reach at least 30,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
The Sinar Digital package is priced from RM120.
Meanwhile, redONE chief executive officer Farid Yunus said the collaboration with Sinar Harian was an effort to deliver fast and precise information.
“In this Internet age where information is readily available on social media, it is hard to know which one is the truth.
“So this collaboration will ensure subscribers get authentic and credible information,” he said.
Besides Sinar Harian, The Star also launched its e-paper phone bundle programme with redONE last month.
Customers who wish to subscribe to the phone bundle programme can start with a minimum of RM88 for the plan.
